The Graphic Design Group Writing Project by Jacob Cass at JustCreativeDesign has ended and has amassed 24 great graphic design articles. A random draw has been made and luckily I won one of the prizes.

How to create Vector Wings

After the succesful tutorial on the snowman, I’m here again for another Illustrator Tutorial and I hope this may help you discover new things and techniques.

 

In this tutorial I will explain you simple steps in creating those fine-looking wings as included in one of my freebies and those on other designs that you may stumble on all around the web. We will create something similar to the image below:

Renders: Pepper Project

Just posting my try on Artgerm’s Pepper Project, I know it’s not that as detailed and as beautiful as the other submissions, but hey this one consumed my 20 free hours and I’ve really put lots of dedication to finish this piece.

I’m not expecting to get my work published, just having entered the contest is one thing and quite fulfilling, I really enjoyed it and the experience really taught me a thing or two in organizing layers in photoshop, It was my first time working on a 2870 * 4960 pixels in 300 DPI and the final file size turned out to 194 MB.

8:56 PM. hmm… less than 4 hours in my PC and it’s almost Valentines day. After finishing almost 90% of my task in the office, I decided to open Illustrator and play a little using my own Freebies which is Free Vector Hearts and here’s what I came up with, and yes my piece is called groovy luv.

Since its almost valentine I’ve created some free vector hearts to share. You may find hearts from the set ranging from different genres of art from black gothic to funky isometric/3d to cute flying hearts perfect for designing cards and a nice addition to your toolbox of vector elements.

I’m thinking of making a tutorial on the heart with white feathers, what do you think?
